The transit batteries that are under the drivers seat are the vehicle battery and one that is described in the ford handbook as a memory battery 65ah in our case 2 4td fwd this is not the habitation battery which should be located elswhere again in our case under one of the bench seat bases.

The batteries should a a breather that vents through the van floor you can charge the engine battery using the jump start point under the bonnet.
Normally the rear battery under the driver seat is the engine battery.

My transit 250amp alternator dual battery arrives in october so i can t look but do assume that ford has a battery isolator between those batteries doesn t seem like they would build a machine that would kill itself.
